Communications Specialist II

SandRidge Energy is seeking to fill a Communications Specialist II position. The person in this position will prepare and publish content to and maintain the infrastructure for SandRidge's digital communication efforts — including intranet, external websites and social media.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for oversight of company’s intranet site, including:

  •             Working with other team members and content owners to prepare and publish content.
  •             Preparing images, web parts and related graphics (e.g., buttons, icons) and/or headers for publishing.
  •             Reviewing content for spelling, grammar and punctuation accuracy prior to publishing.
  •             Verifying all content has received final approval before publishing.
  •             Maintaining relationships with all content contributors and encourage continued content creation, consistent content updates and training of newly available site features.
  •             Conducting regular audits to ensure outdated materials are removed/replaced/updated, as appropriate.
  •             Coordinating and training other SD personnel to ensure department pages are maintained appropriately.
  •             Working with IT Applications group to ensure SD intranet functions properly at all times.
  •             Providing ongoing updates and enhancements to overall functionality.
  •             Working with IT and external vendors to extend Intranet feature set when necessary.

  •             Reviewing content for spelling, grammar and punctuation accuracy prior to publishing.
  •             Verifying all content has received final approval before publishing.
  •             Maintaining relationships with all content contributors and encourage continued content creation, consistent content updates and training of newly available site features.
  •             Conducting regular audits to ensure outdated materials are removed/replaced/updated, as appropriate.
  •             Coordinating with and training other SD personnel to ensure site pages assigned to them are maintained properly.
  •             Coordinating with third-party vendors to ensure site pages assigned to them are maintained properly.
  •             Analyze website traffic, usage, measurements, trends and goals. Develop and distribute reports to internal stakeholders.

Responsible for monitoring, sharing and measuring company initiatives on SandRidge’s social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and others

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or related field.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in communications, interactive/digital or marketing field.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience with Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience with social networking, specifically Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to bring a creative flair and fresh ideas to digital communications.
  • Strong computer skills, including web publishing and content management systems.
  • Intermediate experience with Adobe Photoshop.
  • Experience in oil and gas industry a plus.
  • Ability to interface with employees at all levels within the organization and establish strong client relationships.
  • Extremely detail-oriented with effective multi-tasking and time management skills. Strong analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated and ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Experience in project management a plus.
  • Proven experience developing web strategies a plus.
  • Strong writing skills, including the ability to write for the Web and other digital media a plus.
Physical Demands:

Work Environment:
  • Environmentally controlled with no exposure to extreme changes in the weather, and limited exposure to humidity/moisture relative to atmospheric condition variations.
  • No exposure to dust, chemicals, gases, fumes, smoke, excessive noise, and/or vibrations
  • Work generally performed in an office environment. 
  • Travel may be required for assignments, meetings, and training. 
  • Overtime, Weekend and/or Holiday hours may be required.
