Seth Spillman tells us how Oklahoma City is changing its image with a new creative campaign. Join us for this month's Professional Development Luncheon.
Spillman is Director of Marketing and Communications for the Oklahoma City Convention and Visitors Bureau. The new tagline "OKC-ing Is Believing" is part of a creative campaign including a new logo, hashtag and advertising creative for the city highlighting all the ways OKC is a premier destination for leisure travel, meetings and conventions.
"Our new logo incorporates the Skydance Bridge, which is a representation of the Scissortail Flycatcher, Oklahoma's state bird. It is symbolic of our connection to our state's history, but it's also a representation of the modern and urban Oklahoma City of today. Our new creative will take us to that next step in showing the world what OKC has to offer," according to OKC CVB President Mike Carrier.
Seth Spillman manages the marketing staff and leads marketing and communication efforts, including online strategies, for the OKC CVB. Previously, he worked as the Interactive Marketing Strategist for the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber, where he was responsible for the organization’s online communications strategy and daily management of six sites and three mobile sites. Other professional experiences include partner and Chief Marketing Officer of a web and mobile web development firm and account executive at the largest public relations firm in Oklahoma.
Spillman holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Oklahoma State University and a MBA from the University of Tulsa. He’s also legally registered with the State of Oklahoma to perform weddings. He’s done three. A fifth generation Okie, Spillman lives in his hometown of Midwest City with his wife and two adorable children.
